Planai-Hochwurzen Ski Resort
The Planai-Hochwurzen Ski Resort offers great variety with 123km of pistes and 47 modern cable cars. The famous Planai is also called Schladminger Kaibling and is the local mountain of Schladming. The famous descent between Hauser Kaibling and Hochwurzen leads from the Planai summit into the valley. Where is the Schladming-Planai-Hochwurzen ski resort?
The Schladminger Planai is part of the Schladming-Dachstein ski region and is located in Styria, Austria. The breathtaking Dachstein Glacier is close by. The equally popular ski resort of Ramsau am Dachstein is about half an hour's drive away. Salzburg is just under an hour and a half away, while the provincial capital, Graz, is just over two hours away.

What can I expect from a winter holiday in the Schladming ski resort on the Planai and Hochwurzen?
Besides having fun right on the slopes, you can also experience a lot away from them. For example, you can let off steam on a fat bike on over 110 km of groomed hiking and sledding trails. The particularly thick tyres prevent you from sinking into the snow. Of course, you can also explore the trails on foot as part of a winter hike or snowshoe hike.
At over 7 km long, the natural toboggan run on the Hochwurzen is one of the longest toboggan runs in the Alps. Ski touring is also possible. On night-time operating days, you can even ascend to the summit via slope 33 in the evening. Those looking for a special thrill will find it while paragliding: tandem flights are also possible in winter when the weather is right!
