Surrounded by the 2,458 metre high Bischofsmütze of the Gosaukamm (Dachstein) and the Salzburg Slate Alps, Filzmoos grants an exceptional panoramic view of the snow-covered peaks of the beautiful winter world. The Filzmoos ski area is a true cross-country skiing El Dorado with approx. 48 km of groomed trails. In addition to the high-altitude trail on the Rossbrand with its almost 12 km, there are numerous others where both classic cross-country skiers and skaters can really let off steam. Whether beginner or professional: the varied terrain with its different levels of difficulty allows for fun for everyone.

The Rossbrand is not the only ski mountain in Filzmoos: the extensive, wide pistes also extend over the Großberg and the Neuberg. Rustic huts with regional cuisine and many vantage points with views of the mountain world of Salzburg's Pongau region are ideal for a cosy rest.

The Filzmoos ski area and its surroundings are not only a popular destination for skiers, cross-country skiers or snowboarders. There is also a varied social programme away from the groomed slopes. The backcountry ski tour Windlegerscharte is very demanding, but rewards you with fantastic views. The highest point is at 2,403 metres above sea level.

Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can explore the area around Filzmoos on approx. 50 km of cleared winter hiking trails. Snowshoes can also be rented to better explore untouched terrain. Fun for the whole family is offered by a brisk ride on the toboggan or sledge. Night tobogganing is even possible with advance notice.

In bad weather or to relax, a trip to the Filzmoos leisure park is worthwhile. The wonderful sauna world has indoor and outdoor saunas, infrared cabins, a steam bath and a solarium. In the relaxation rooms you can retreat with a good book or have a duel with the family on the bowling alley. The indoor swimming pool with heated outdoor pool invites you to do your laps and is thus an ideal compensation after a strenuous day on the slopes. There is also an ice skating rink at the leisure park, which delights both young and old.
